How to Launch Your KidsKonnectUkraine Program
Launching a KidsKonnectUkraine chapter in your school or community is an exciting opportunity to unite kids from across the world, and it’s easier than you might think!
Step 1: Identify Key Partners
The first step is to identify key partners who will champion the initiative. This includes finding a dedicated community leader, determining a start date, and confirming the participation of Ukrainian educational partners. Having strong leadership from the beginning ensures a smooth launch and a sustainable program.
Step 2: Establish Leadership & Logistics
Once the foundation is set, it’s time to establish leadership and logistics. Selecting a lead organizer and student ambassadors will help guide the program, ensuring that all participants stay engaged. Additionally, assessing funding requirements and securing necessary resources will provide the support needed for long-term success.
Step 3: Organize Student Engagement
With leadership in place, the next step is to prepare for launch. Start by introducing students to KidsKonnectUkraine and our mission! Then, schedule and confirm a live virtual meet-up with Ukrainian students. To facilitate ongoing communication, have students join Slack and create profiles, which will serve as the primary platform for discussions and activities! Also set up student ambassadors to help lead discussions and activities while encouraging students to research meaningful discussion topics. Prior to any virtual meet-ups, testing connectivity and equipment is key to ensure smooth interactions between students.
