On May 13, 2025 KidsKonnectUkraine (KKU) brought its hands-on mobile journalism training to students at a school in Kalush. Led by Mick Reed, the workshop gave students the chance to explore storytelling through their own lens—using just their phones and a bit of creative vision.
What made the day especially meaningful was seeing some familiar faces from this winter’s training session in Ivano-Frankivsk. These returning students jumped right back in, building on the skills they had learned and showing impressive growth in their confidence and technique.

Workshops like this are at the heart of KKU’s mission—to empower youth with tools to tell their own stories and connect across borders. Seeing young people return, re-engage, and inspire others is exactly why we keep doing this work.
