Congratulations to Katia Pleshchuk, a dedicated participant of our program, who has been selected as a FLEX finalist! 🎉🇺🇸
This is an incredible achievement, and we couldn’t be more excited for her. Katia will spend the upcoming school year in the United States — in East Dorset, Vermont — continuing her education and representing Ukraine with pride.
Katia, we are so proud of you and wish you an unforgettable, inspiring, and successful year ahead!
As Katya said:
Being part of the KidsKonnectUkraine program was such a special and meaningful experience for me. We had so many inspiring online meetings with American students where we talked, learned from each other, and shared our cultures. One of my favorite moments was a challenge where we exchanged recipes and showed to each other our national dishes – it was so cool to see how different and beautiful our traditions are, even through food!
In addition, I also loved the part where we learned about mobile journalism. We got to create our own stories, film B-rolls, practice interviews, and even edit our own videos. It was so exciting to try something completely new. It really helped me improve my photography and video-making skills.
This program helped me so much to grow – I became more confident, improved my English, and really developed my teamwork and leadership skills. Most importantly, I learned how powerful it is to connect with people from different cultures. Besides, these experiences helped me succeed in becoming a finalist of the FLEX exchange program, which I’m really very grateful for.
In my opinion, KidsKonnectUkraine is more than just a program – it’s a journey of growth, meaningful friendships, and discovering your own potential.
